South Tallcree Community Presentation

An FASD presentation for community members was held at the Adult Education Centre in South Tallcree. Many thanks to the Little Red River Cree Nation Health Department and Theresa Overgaard for the donation of gifts.


Beaver First Nation Community Presentation
November 19, 2004



Colleen Burns, Diagnostic Team Coordinator and another Society member presented an FASD Awareness and Education session at the Beaver First Nation Health Station. An interested, multi-age group participated in and attended this session.


A hand-crafted baby blanket made by a lady from Tsu T'ina First Nations was donated as a free draw prize from the OBD Triage Institute.


Fox Lake Community Presentation
March 14, 2005



The ice bridge road over the Peace River provides the major transportation route for Fox Lake between December and March. For the remainder of the year, access to Fox Lake is by air and water transportation, using a barge to cross the Peace River. The Northwest Regional FASD Society was invited to do a presentation for Little Red River Cree Nation CFSA staff and a community education and awareness session at the Fox Lake Nursing Station in March 2005.

Access to Garden River is via a seasonal road, about 200 Km. east of High Level.
