FASD Awareness Day 2025
FASD Awareness Day 2025
On September 9, our community came together to recognize Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day with a day full of connection, learning, and fun.
Starting with the nine block walk, the morning began at 9:09 a.m. — a meaningful time chosen to represent the nine months of pregnancy. The walk was a wonderful show of support, with NWR FASD staff, partner agencies and students from the Fort Vermilion School Division all taking part. Many students proudly wore red shirts, helping to bring energy and visibility to this important cause.
In the afternoon, the celebration continued with a lively community barbecue starting at 3:00 p.m. Families, friends, and neighbors enjoyed delicious food, games, and prizes, creating a welcoming space for learning more about FASD while having fun together. The laughter, teamwork, and conversations throughout the afternoon reminded us of the strength and spirit within our community.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, supported, and helped make FASD Awareness Day 2025 a success. Together, we are raising awareness, reducing stigma, and showing that when we walk side by side, we can create a community where all individuals and families feel supported and celebrated.
🌟 Side by side, step by step — raising awareness for FASD in our community.
❤️ Awareness, connection, and fun — that’s what FASD Awareness Day is all about!
