Grand Opening: The Sun Room Shines Bright for Youth in Our Region

Summary: On September 25, 2025, we celebrated the grand opening of our new youth space—The Sun Room—a welcoming, sensory-aware environment designed to nurture connection, skills, and wellbeing for youth across the Mackenzie region. This milestone was made possible through the generosity of our partners, donors, and community members who believe in making a difference, together.

Overview

The Sun Room was created to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for youth and families. Thoughtfully designed with calm lighting, flexible seating, and accessible resources, the space reflects our commitment to person-centred supports, trauma-informed practice, and cultural safety. From drop-in programming to guided workshops, the Sunshine Room will be a hub for learning, creativity, and community connection.

Community Impact

Our region’s youth deserve places where they can build strengths, find belonging, and access timely supports. The Sunshine Room helps fill that need by:
