History of the Diagnostic Clinic

The NWR FASD Society held its first Diagnostic Clinic in the spring of 2003 under the coordination of Colleen Burns. Clinics continued until 2006, when funding became increasingly difficult to obtain.

Through persistent advocacy, collaboration with the Northwestern Health Region, and the NW Primary Care Network, FASD Diagnostic Clinics were re-established in the Mackenzie Region in 2009. Collaboration among stakeholders proved to be at the heart of the program's success.

Today, the Mackenzie FASD Diagnostic Clinic continues to serve youth and adults across the region, providing comprehensive assessments and connecting individuals to the supports they need.
